About the Artist

Mack Baltzegar (9/4/34 – 9/26/22) lived in Greenwood, South Carolina, where he grew up at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home.  He was a graduate of Furman University and Famous Artist’s Correspondence School.  Mack was a former art teacher in the public school system and a counselor with the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.  While retired, he owned Unique Art Service, a picture framing and art service business.  Mack enjoyed working in all mediums, but his favorites were pen and ink sketches along with watercolors.

The family of Mack Baltzegar offered his remaining prints during the Connie Maxwell Alumni Reunion June 7-9, 2024. All donations were given to Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries at this event.

THANK YOU to everyone that came by Connie Maxwell and picked up some prints and made a donation! We greatly appreciate it and all the wonderful words shared about our father. If you missed the opportunity, Connie Maxwell will have the prints available soon. I will post the details once I have them. I kept a small inventory for anyone located near me in Buchanan, GA. The available prints are shown below. View the image to see its size. Several of the prints are hand signed. If you have any interest please contact George Baltzegar via Email.

The Augusta Collection

In 1968, Mack Baltzegar attended a Masters practice round where he took photographs that he eventually turned into watercolor paintings. This collection celebrates an Augusta National Golf Club that few remember, but that still evokes the wonder and curiosity of the modern golf fan. Reproductions of Mack’s collection can be purchased at Vintage Golf Art.
